There is progress being made in terms of abstracting the imagery of my objects. This is happening through using the actual objects initially to now working from memory as I am familiar with the sense of the object aesthetically and personally through the process of photographing, sketching and writing. These pieces still hold much of the form and look like the object but there is a feeling that the edges are blurring as I forget or misremember the actual form. At this stage I am still working relatively small (nothing bigger than A1) this is to experiment and be able to transport multiple pieces for crits. Although the objects are still pretty much actual size so up-scaling may leave large blank spaces of painterly space. At the moment I really like this idea to get a sense of the objects actuality in the world. I will have to try at least one large scale before crit to see if it works.
