Video – Book

Following on from my crit and in particular my questions regarding how I could include the book into an exhibition. I want to allow people to experience the book in a non-digital, tactile way, as an object. The idea of making a second book seemed best way forward, a book which would have many of the elements of the larger version,. I used a lot of the materials which were not included and left over from the main book and I added some recent images of the painting progress which are not in the larger version. The process of making a smaller book was slightly easier as I had made one before. I have not included the essay in this smaller version as I am thinking that an artist statement would be a better way to give some context to my work, this also leaves a sense of ambiguity and openness to it’s reading. I also made a box from archival card to store the books in. It fits with my low tech methodology of handmaking everything and particular process which is my own type of archiving system.
