Notes

Following the crit I have decided to hand in the clay along with the paintings for the Karst install. Happy to leave it to a curator to select what works. There will be decisions made which take into account the space, the other works and how things flow and communicate well. I think it will be good for me to see how this happens without my input.

I got in touch with Gabby in ceramics to see about getting everything that I have fired before the install. I realize that this will make them stronger for moving about, although I am not too worried about breakage. I think of them are rough pieces as I familiarize myself with the materials. The breaks and happenstance is a part of the process. This is true of the paintings I am submitting also. They are open ended, perhaps incomplete, pieces of discovery and exploration of subject and materials.

I expect to have around six paitnings and maybe six clay pices.
