Julie Ellis Artist

Tidy studio – tidy mind. I wanted to clear out some of the mess in my studio which zaps my enthusiasm. I always seem to be running out of space and I have lots of directions which I want to explore with my painting and clay work during the second year. Hoping to take advantage of the second year being a place to fail/learn/discover as I lacked confidence to stray from the briefs on my degree. Hence I have collage, clay, abstract and representative work in progress and many concepts and theorists underlying all of this. Interior spaces dominating and the mental feeling of being insular and cut off form the outside. Talking to Derek on zoom and CAMP membership to reach out and generate conversations and also looking at opportunities on AN and the wider art world for ways to get out there.

Work in progress;
