Today I have worked over the drawings which I made using charcoal, pastel and water based paint. There is something which I feel able to add which is to do with the translucency of glazes achieved with only oil paint. I can’t seem to achieve this with water based paint as some painters do. I also like the time that oils allow to move the medium around before things dry. It is important for me to take photos of my work when I am experimenting so that I can identify points in the process where I may overwork.
