Notes on Essay crit:

Zanna: There is a sense of poetry in the three pieces on the slide. Have the spontaneous words been written in relation to the painting? Could the words link? Could they take more of a core place in the work?

Anya: Ref question? Rhythm/pattern not necessarily a question. Intense paintings. How are you going to write about other theorist and artists not try to explain your work but have it float around in parallel state so that your painting speaks. In terms of the essay look at the other sources but also interact with your own work. Find a model that doesn’t say ‘Burgson says this. and this is what I show in my work here’ for example. You may find that the depth comes from letting them stand against each other.

Mark: Ref question. Look at working out a structure without a question. Think of what to include. arrange these parts. key quotes/notes. structure driven rather than question driven.
